  • Interviews conducted on a rolling basis starting the week of September 22.

Who Can Apply:

  • Priority: Harvard Griffin GSAS graduate students.

  • Harvard-affiliated postdoctoral fellows.

  • HLS, HMS, HKS, HSDM, GSD, HDS, GSE, HSPH, SEAS, and Extension school degree students.

Commitment: Full-year appointment (Oct 2025 - Aug 2026). Exceptions made for graduating students.

HGCC Executive Board Positions 2025 – 2026

General responsibilities:

  • Attend the fall mixer and onboarding meeting, as well as the summer club dinner and social. 

  • Participate in team meetings as needed, with regular communication managed via Slack.  

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of HGCC events as required by your position. 

 

Open Positions:

Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents of Case Competition (CC) - Team of 8-10

Time Commitment: ~4 hours/week (planning runs from November - March/April; availability required leading up to and during the Case Competition)

  • Organize the Harvard/MIT Case Competition in March/April 2026

  • Secure and manage client relationships

  • Manage relationships with consulting firms and industry experts

  • Collaborate to deliver a quality program for 50+ participants

Vice Presidents of Professional Relations and Development (PRD) - Team of 8-10

Time Commitment: ~4 hours/week (heaviest from November - April)

  • Organize the HGCC Consulting Career Fair in February 2026

  • Organize 8 panels/case workshops throughout the academic year

  • Manage relationships with consulting firms and consultants 

Vice Presidents of Community Engagement (CE) - Team of 3-4

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week (consistent throughout the year)

  • Develop and maintain HGCC’s website and social media presence

  • Communicate and market HGCC events through weekly emails

  • Increase HGCC’s visibility throughout the Harvard community

Senior Vice Presidents of Partnerships and Engagement - Team of 2-3

Time Commitment: ~4 hours/week (heaviest from November - April)

  • Oversee event and outreach preparation and execution in both the PRD and CE teams

  • Lead and manage relationships with consulting firms and consultants

  • Spearhead the organization of the HGCC Consulting Career Fair in February 2026

Helpful Information

  • Top consulting firms place strong emphasis on demonstrated consulting and business experience during resume reviews - experience that is typically not gained through PhD or postdoctoral work

  • In the 2024-2025 academic year, approximately 40% of new HGCC leaders who applied for consulting positions received an offer, including at McKinsey, Bain, and BCG

  • Referrals substantially increase the likelihood of securing an interview

  • Networking with current HGCC leaders who have received offers, HGCC alumni, and exposure to Harvard and campus recruiters can often lead to valuable referrals

  • HGCC maintains strong, positive relationships with top consulting firms such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, and LEK
